d Visionen, Erfahrungen und Pioniergeist — das sind die Eigen- schaften, die für die EHMA (European Hotel Managers Associa- tion) zählen, wenn sie jährlich Experten auszeichnet, die sich für eine Weiterentwicklung der Hotelindustrie einsetzen. Zur EHMA gehören 400 Mitglieder in 29 Ländern. Jetzt wurde Hans Wie- demann geehrt, Managing Director & Delegate of the Board des Badrutt’s Palace Hotel. Für seine Karriere wurde ihm im Rahmen der diesjährigen Generalversammlung in Amsterdam der EHMA Lifetime Achievement Award verliehen. Seit er das Traditionshaus im Sommer 2004 übernommen hat, konnte es zweistellige Wachs- tumszahlen verbuchen. Neben der guten Ausbildung seiner An- gestellten legt er grossen Wert auf den Bereich Nachhaltigkeit. So initiierte er z. B. 2006, dass das Bad- rutt’s Palace Hotel zu 80 Prozent mit See- wärme aus dem St. Moritzersee geheizt wird. Auf die Auszeichung angespro- chen, meint Hans Wiedemann: „Solche Prei- se gehören nie einem selber. Dazu braucht es ein funktionierendesUmfeld. In unseremFall stimmt dieses! Ich bin stolz für die Schweiz, Graubünden, St. Moritz und für das Badrutt’s Palace Hotel, dass man auf der europäischen Bühne über uns spricht. Mein Dank geht an so viele Leute, die dazu beigetragen haben, Gäste, Hauptaktionäre, Verwaltungsrat, Ma- nagement, Familie, all die lieben Mitarbeite- rinnen und Mitarbeiter! Koch, President of the EHMA (r.), presented Hans Wiedemann with the EHMA Lifetime Achievement Award on the occasion of the association’s Annual General Meeting in March 2017 e Vision, experience and pioneering abilities: these are the qualities which the EHMA (European Hotel Managers Association) is seeking when it recognises experts who help to further the de- velopment of the hotel industry. The EHMA has 400 members in 29 countries. Hans Wiedemann, Managing Director & Delegate of the Board of the Badrutt’s Palace Hotels, has now been honoured for his extraordinary career with the EHMA Lifetime Achievement Award, which was conferred at this year’s General Meeting of the EHMA in Amsterdam. Since taking the helm at the Badrutt’s Palace in the summer of 2004, he has overseen double-digit growth rates. In ad- dition to ensuring that his employees are well trained, he attaches great importance to sustainability. In this regard, his achievements include initiating the process in 2006 where- by 80% of the Palace’s heating is provided by energy extracted from the water of Lake St. Moritz. When asked about this award, Hans Wiedemann stated: “Such accolades are never conferred just on an individual. To achieve them, an efficient environment is re- quired – and ours certainly is! I am proud for Switzerland, Graubünden, St. Moritz and for the Badrutt’s Palace Hotel, that we are being recognised at a European level. I would like to thank so many people who have played their part: guests, our main shareholders, the supervisory board, managers, my family and all of my esteemed colleagues!
