Ezio Colturi Chauffeur d „Ein Chauffeur fährt Rolls!“ Sagt Ezio Colturi auf seine freund- lich zurückhaltende, doch warme Art. Ohne Rolls-Royce wäre er ja nur ein Voiturier, der dieAutos der Gäste in die Garage fährt. Auf ihn als Chauffeur warten dagegen Silver Spirit und zwei Phantoms. Der alte ist „original von 1968 und stammt aus dem englischen Königs- haus. Mit dem wollen alle Gäste am liebsten fahren, die Prominen- ten und Stars, die Schönen und Süssen“. Seit 29 Jahren schon öffnet Ezio ihnen die Tür zu seiner weichen, weissen Leder-Rückbank. „Das Tolle an meinem Beruf ist, dass ich diese vielen spannenden Menschen treffen darf.“ Sobald feststeht, wer kommt, ist Ezio oft noch genauso aufgeregt wie früher als junger Fahrer. Schliesslich ist er oft der erste Gesandte des Badrutt’s Palace Hotel, er nimmt die Gäste am Bahnhof oder Flugplatz in Empfang. Wenn alle und alles glücklich im Rolls sitzen, entwickelt sich vielleicht ein Gespräch, manchmal ist Ruhe das Schönste, wenn der Rolls leise flüsternd auf St. Moritz zufährt. Details verrät der Chauffeur nicht. „Ich habe al- les als Privatalbum in meinem Kopf.“ Selbst Geheimnisse sind bei ihm gut aufgehoben. Schon Vater, Onkel und Bruder arbeiteten ihr Berufsleben lang für die Badrutts – „sie sind meine zweite Familie.“ // e ” A chauffeur drives a Rolls!”, says Ezio Colturi in his pleasantly understated yet warm manner. Without a Rolls Royce, he would, after all, only be a valet who drives the guests’ cars into the garage. As a chauffeur, however, he sits behind the wheels of a Silver Spirit and two Phantoms. One of the Phantoms is “an original from 1968 that once belonged to the British royal family. This is the car in which all guests prefer to be driven, the celebrities and stars, the beautiful peo- ple.” Ezio has been opening the door to his soft, white leather back seat for 29 years now. “The fantastic thing about my job is that I get to meet so many exciting people.” When he finds out who is coming, Ezio is often every bit as excited as when he started out as a young driver. He is often the Badrutt’s Palace Hotel’s first ambassador when he picks guests up from the station or the airport. Once guests are happily seated and their luggage loaded, there may be a con- versation, though silence is sometimes golden as the vehicle glides smoothly towards St. Moritz. The chauffeur does not disclose details. “I have everything in a private album in my head.” Even secrets are safe in Ezio’s hands. His father, uncle and brother all spent their working lives in the employ of Badrutt’s. “It’s my second family”. //
